BTS has made such a remarklable history this year, but fans know that they are in the middle of their break from all their activities, which means things may be a little different from usual this holiday.

RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook spent their last activity as a group this year claiming their "Artist of the Year" award at the AMAs and finishing their four-day "Permission to Dance On Stage" held in SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles.

And because of COVID rules, this would probably let them miss many year-end events and award shows due to quarantine and schedule conflict, especially since they flew back home separately.

After their concert, BTS' agency, BigHit Labels, announced that they will be having their second official break. It explained that the septet will be having their first holidays with their families once again since their debut in 2013.

BTS' Outstanding Year Ender Performances

Now that they are away from their usually busy end-of-the-year activities, here are some of the events the group missed this year.

Since then, ARMYs have always waited for BTS to perform at the Mnet Asia Music Awards and Melon Music Awards. They are usually the final act of these ceremonies quite several times. In 2018, their MMA performance wowed fans and non-fans as the group showcased a never-before-seen "IDOL" performance along with traditional dances. Jimin was even awarded an Appreciation Plaque from the Kim Baek Bong Fan Dance Conservation Society for his performance as he "re-interpreted the beautiful Korean fan dance in a unique way."

The following year, the septet appeared in MAMA with a flashback of songs from nearly every era of their career. It was also 2019 when the "Dynamite" hitmakers took home nine awards, making them the first-ever act to achieve a clean 'Daesang' (Grand Awards) all sweep. Despite not attending this year's event, they were still able to take home another sweep for the third consecutive time.

Aside from the award shows, there were also different music festivals held by three broadcasting stations in December, where they also usually attend ever since their debut. In their early days, BTS also went through an era where they covered some of their seniors' songs, just like Shinhwa's "Perfect Man" in 2015 and Rain's "Rainism" in 2016 for MBC Gayo.

In 2019, the seven members were split into units and filled the air with holiday spirits on Christmas day, singing Christmas Carol Medley for SBS Gayo.

Even though they may or may not participate in these annual events, BTS has never missed a year without giving gifts to their fans through media content as a way to say thank you before the year ends.

In 2020, two BTS members released their own written Christmas songs. Jimin and V uploaded their singles "Christmas Love" and "Snow Flower," respectively, through their official Soundcloud and YouTube.

As a bonus, this year, the group recorded a Holiday Remix dance practice of their Billboard hit song "Butter," uploaded a day before Christmas Eve.
