After a six-year hiatus in producing gut-wrenching emotional songs, Adele took over the world again after dropping her new album "30" last November 2021.
This week's Spout podcast featured an interview with the 33-year-old "Easy on Me" singer, during which she explained the reason behind her new album. She revealed one song in particular that she will not be performing live.
The British chart-topper opened up to host Tamara Dhia, that she would not sing "To Be Loved" live because of how emotional it is for her.
Adele recounts that she had only sung To Be Loved a "few times", and she cannot really listen to it without getting emotional. She swore she will "never" perform the song live.
The pop icon had already achieved success before the album's release, with the lead single "Easy on Me" garnering 24 million Spotify streams in its first 24 hours and her One Night Only special attracting more viewers than the Grammys and Oscars combined this year.
Adele's comeback album "30" was inspired by her recent divorce from Simon Konecki after almost three years of marriage. The album documents her healing process as well as her close bond with her 9-year-old son, Angelo.
Who's Adele dating now?
Following her divorce with Simon Konecki, tables has seemed to turned for Adele as she found love from sports agent Rich Paul.
The two were initially seen at a Phoenix Suns and Milwauuke Bucks game last July.
In the same interview, admits that she have "loved basketball for years" even before his romance with Paul, who happens to be one of NBA's biggest sports agent.
Adele giggles when asked if she would take basketball lessons from Lebron, who's good friend with Paull, saying, "What? No! I ain't got time, I'm putting out an album!"
Friendship with Drake
Not known to many, but Drake and Adele share a special bond of friendship that she disclosed in the same podcast.
Although the two never collaborated musically, the two never failed to cheer up on each other whenever possible.
The Toronto rapper was also spotted on Adele's One Night Only special along with Selena Gomez, Seth Rogen, Lizzo, and Childish Gambino, among many others.
Adele revealed that she had played "30" a year before it was released to get the R&B star's feedback.
The "Rolling in the Deep" hitmake says one of the reasons she appreciates being friends with the rapper is "having access to someone who truly understands" what it is like to know a lot of what it's like to be like her.
In an interview with Q, Adele went on to describe her friendship with Drake "one of the biggest gifts," citing their shared celebrity status and life experiences.
