Who would have thought those CPR classes would come in handy, especially when saving your choking friend.

That's where Rapper Jim Jones saved his friend and photographer Jerry Flete after the latter collapsed.

Recently, Jones and Flete have spoken with Inside Edition about the terrifying incident. According to the two men involved, a recent trip to Florida for Jim's cryptocurrency event Capo Coin resulted in the said altercation.

Flete explained that they were "just hanging out" on a break from work, and the incident happened "so fast". The photographer said that he remembers waking up while Jim gives him chest compressions and tells him to wake up.

"He basically saved my life. I'm here today because of Jim," he continued.

More commonly known as Jim Jones, Joseph Guillermo Jones II, said that he was made aware of what was happening when his partner Doug frantically told him - saying that Jerry was "going through something that didn't seem good, like he was choking".

The 45-year old rapper said that Flete could not breathe and that it "kind of scared" him as he did not actually know what was going on.

The Harlem rapper took action and used his skills when he was young. He attributed the life-saving skill he possessed when he had to take CPR Classes for her little sister, who has a heart condition.

He also added that his whole family was required to take special classes on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation or CPR because of her sister's ailment.

The "We Fly High" hitmaker also revealed that he "vividly" remembers everything he was thought to do in that life-and-death situation. Still, like everybody else, he was just as "frantic and confused" at first and is now proud that it gave his friend a life again.

According to reports, Jim is presently working on a new album, which will be titled "Prime 112", a reference to the restaurant where he was allegedly involved in a fight with Freddie Gibbs.

The Prime 112 Brawl

In December 2021, Vlad TV reported that both Rapper Freddie Gibbs and Jim Jones' crew were allegedly caught up in a physical altercation at the Prime 112 restaurant in Miami, Florida.

However, the alleged scuffle has not been validated, and there is no accompanying video footage to back up these assertions at the time, which is concerning. Despite this, a few tales from people who claim to have observed the melee on social media have surfaced.
