Travis Scott apparently wanted to preserve his Coachella spot despite speculations that he will not be playing this year due to the tragic Astroworld Music Festival in November 2021.

Several weeks ago, Variety announced that the "goosebumps" rapper will no longer be performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2022.

Travis' agency, though, was "steadfast in attempting to maintain the slot" that was set for him to be the lead act of, according to the outlet's informant.

Cara Lewis, the rapper's agent, was allegedly notified that he would no longer be in charge of being the lead performance.

The event agreed to pay a "kill free" for dumping the rapper as a result of the cancellation.

This is set at 25% of what his overall profits from this event would have been, according to Hypebeast.

The actual reason Travis Scott and his team wanted to maintain their Coachella spot was because he planned to devote his performance to the victims of his Astroworld disaster.

Last month, the deaths of ten persons in Houston were determined as a result of compression asphyxia, according to the Harris County medical examiner.

Many people were hurt in a surge of fans during Travis' festival, which drew 50,000 people.

Ezra Blount, nine years old, was the youngest casualty, according to sources.

Other persons who died while at the event varied in age from 14 to 27.

Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed in response to the injuries and fatalities that occurred during the concerts.

At this moment, no one has been charged with a crime, and no date has been established for when the investigation will be concluded.

Many others have ditched the 30-year-old song producer, including fashion giant Dior, which has opted to "postpone indefinitely" the premiere of his collaboration with Travis' Cactus Jack.

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner News

Meanwhile, Travis Scott and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner are reportedly more prepared than ever for the arrival of their second child.

An insider revealed to Us Weekly that the self-made billionaire and her beau are "elated to be on this journey together."

"She has been trying for almost two years to get pregnant. She has always wanted another kid close to Stormi's age."

Though Kylie and Travis had had their ups and downs in the past, waiting for their second child is reportedly bringing them closer than ever.

"They are so in love with each other. They share a special bond as parents that no one else can touch."
