Will he be able to rise up to his challenge?

Kodak challenged Jay-Z in a VERZUZ battle. The 24-year old rapper took his confidence in the next level by daring Hov to a rap battle.

The prize? Black will give Jay-Z 15% of his personal catalog if Hov wins. But if Black wins, he dared the rap icon to make him "Vice President of Roc Nation".

However, while Kodak Black may be excited about the prospect of battling Jigga, whose discography spans 26 years, it is highly improbable that this would actually happen because Jay believes that no one is a fit opponent for a Verzuz duel.

Jay-Z has initially told on Twitter that no one can beat him in a VERZUZ battle, to which many figures in the hip-hop community have expressed otherwise.

Run-ins with the Police

Most recently, Kodak Black was detained Saturday morning for trespassing in Pompano Beach. Reports say that Black was freed on bail from Broward Main Jail.

He also received a three-year federal prison term for fabricating paperwork used to purchase firearms from a Miami gun store, which President Donald Trump commuted on his final day in office in 2020. Black had only completed around half of his sentence.

Kodak Black, born Dieuson Octave, was arrested on firearm charges at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami shortly before performing at the event. He was later sent to prison for 46 months for the crime.

Just last year, he also assaulted a teenage girl in a hotel room in South Carolina and was eventually sentenced to probation. A rape accusation was first filed against Black, who finally agreed to a plea bargain and admitted to first-degree assault.

Even though marked with legal controversies due to his behavior, Kodak Black has definitely had commercial success in his music career.

Success in his Rap Career

Earning his first No. 1 album at the Billboard 200 last December 2018, the South Florida rapper's "Dying To Live" took his career on an upward trajectory.

The famous track "Zeze," which featured Travis Scott and Offset, served as Kodak's "Dying To Live" centerpiece.
