Rina's Europe leg of the "Dynasty Tour" is canceled due to the ongoing surge in Omicron cases.

As a result of a continuing global surge of COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron Variant, Rina Sawayama has postponed her European headline tour for 2022.

In March 2021, she was scheduled to perform in Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Berlin to promote her 2020 debut album, "SAWAYAMA".

Rina recently took to her Instagram account to announce the "sad news" that she will be canceling her planned tour to Europe.

Despite feeling excited to tour, Sawayama also expressed her disappointment with the cancellation but still promised her fans and followers a "bigger show and new music". She also added that refunds for the canceled shows will be available at the original point of purchase.

The tour is supposedly scheduled to begin on March 19 with a performance at La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris and continue with shows in Brussels, Amsterdam, and Berlin.

However, she had not stated whether the European cancellations would have an impact on the North American leg of the tour.

The US Tour is scheduled to begin on April 11 with a two-night stand at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall and conclude on May 9 with a show at Brooklyn Steel in New York.

Clairo, The Streets, Wolf Alice, and Henry Rollins were some of the artists who have recently postponed their shows because of the recent surge COVID-19 Omicron variant. Just this week, The 2022 Grammy Awards was also postponed and pushed backed on a later date.

Other collaborations

Aside from the North American and European Tour, Rina was also busy collaborating with some artists last 2021.

The Japanese-born singer-songwriter had developed some obvious kinship with Pop Legend Elton John, with the latter saying that the former's debut album "Sawayama" "blew him away".

In April 2021, Rina released a new version of her song "Chosen Family" with a duet with Elton John. The same track was also featured in Elton John's recent quarantine album, "The Lockdown Sessions". Sawayama appeared in Elton's "Ultimate Zoom Call" with other big names in the industry, including Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X, Dua Lipa, Charlie Puth, and Pop Legend Stevie Wonder.

Recently, Charli XCX also teased fans in a 20-second TikTok video of her upcoming collaboration with Rina Sawayama last December 2021. Charli looked into the camera as the bouncy dance track poured out of the speakers, announcing that she would run down a piece of Rina's verse on the as-yet-untitled single.
