It was recently announced that Celine Dion had canceled her remaining 16 shows of her "Courage" world tour following her ongoing health issues.
According to an update posted on her official Instagram account, she wrote, "I was really hoping that I'd be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing."
"There's a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road," the statement continued. "I'll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic, and I can't wait to be back on stage again."
The Canadian star then continued her statement acknowledging her fans' "words of encouragement" that she receives on social media, adding, "I feel your love and support and it means the world to me."
The 'Courage' World Tour Plans
The 53-year-old icon said that she was still in recovery from "severe and persistent muscle spasms," which became the reason why she was prevented from performing and as well as, participating in the ongoing rehearsals for the show.
According to People, the "Titanic" hitmaker was able to perform 52 shows across North America for the tour. However, it was halted due to the COVID pandemic in March 2020.
It was also followed by another announcement in October 2021 saying that she was "heartbroken" after postponing her residency entitled "Céline," supposed to be held at Resorts World Las Vegas. That was the time she revealed that she suffered from muscle spasms.
Her "Courage" World Tour was then rearranged to take place from March 9 to April 12 in the new year. However, they have since been called off following her medical team's advice as she receives treatment for her condition.
