The nominees for this year 2022 NAACP Image Awards are already announced.
Filipino-American R&B Singer H.E.R dominated this year's National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) awards for music.
Earning six different nods from Outstanding Album, Outstanding Soul/R&B Song, Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Duo/Group, or Collaboration (contemporary), and Outstanding Gospel/Christian Song.
With four nominations apiece, Chlöe, Drake, Silk Sonic, and Jazmine Sullivan are the runners-up.
On Tuesday, the nominees were revealed via the NAACP's Instagram page (January 18, 2022). The NAACP Image Awards will be a two-hour event, which will be shown live on BET on February 26, 2022.
Anthony Anderson, the star of the television show "Black-ish", will serve as host, albeit there will be no in-person audience.
According to a press release, due to the "evolving developments" with COVID-19 and variations, the "powerful night in Black excellence" will continue to go push through without an in-person audience.
Nominees for performer of the year include Jennifer Hudson, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Regina King, and Tiffany Haddish.

It was unveiled at a virtual event hosted by actress and musician Kyla Pratt, Black-ish actor Marcus Scribner, and singer-songwriter Tinashe.
Nominations were released in a whopping 83 categories, according to the announcement.
For television and streaming, there are 29 categories, including 15 for recordings, 14 motion pictures, eight for literary works, five for directing, four for writing, four for podcasts, two for documentaries, and one each for entertainer of the year and social media personality of the year.

Grammys x NAACP
Many of the Image Award candidates are also nominated for the forthcoming 64th annual Grammy Awards, which final dates and official venue are to be announced soon.
The album "Back of My Mind" by H.E.R., which was nominated for Oustanding Album of The Year, is also a Grammy finalist for the same category.
Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open," which was nominated for an Outstanding Soul/R&B song, is a Grammy nominee for both Record of the Year and Song of the year, respectively.
Saweetie and Jimmie Allen, who are also both nominated for Outstanding New Artist, also received Grammy nods for Best New Artist.
The 2022 NAACP Image Awards will be broadcast live on February 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
For international viewers, the show will premiere on BET Africa on February 27 at 20:00 Central African Time (CAT), followed by BET France on March 2 at 8:45 pm Central European Time (CEST).
Beginning on March 1, the show will also be available to watch on My5 and Sky On-Demand in the United Kingdom.
