"It's been a great ten years folks, and now it's time for me to move on from the mighty Testament. It merely comes down to the fact that schedules can be challenging to align for in-demand dudes like yours truly," he writes. "I wish Chuck, Eric, Alex and Stevie D the absolute best of luck as they will continue to crush as always."

Hoglan admitted that he is "psyched" and "greatly moving forward" to all the new opportunities he will be facing in the coming months and years.

In a separate post, Testament wrote that they are "beyond grateful to have had Gene Hoglan behind our drum throne for ten years, several albums and countless tour dates".

The band revealed that they have "amicably" decided to part ways with Hoglan because of the guitarist's prior commitments and solo endeavors conflicting with the band's rescheduled tour dates.

"We understand that this announcement will cause some disappointment but rest assured: There is no drama, only the best of vibes between us."

Testament has not forgotten to recognize Hoglan's contribution to the band as they thank Gene "for bringing the most powerful drum beats to Testament and heavy metal".

The thrash metal band assured fans and followers that they would continue to deliver "top-notch addition" to Testament in replacement to Hoglan while teasing an upcoming tour at the same time.

History with Testament

Hoglan was a member of Testament for a brief period between 1996 and 1997, contributing drums to the band's 1997 album "Demonic".

He returned to the band in 2011 for ten years, during which he contributed to the albums "Dark Roots of Earth" (2012), "Brotherhood of the Snake" (2016), and "Titans of Creation" (2020).

Known to "not" stick with a band for an extended period, the sought-after drummer is looking forward to the next chapter of his career after previously playing with Dark Angel, Death, Strapping Young Lad, Dethklok, Devin Townsend, Fear Factory, and other bands.
