Atlantan rapper Gucci Mane is putting his foot on the gas pedal when it comes to music releases in 2022, as he is back with a brand new tune and music video.

Guwop released his latest single, "Rumors," on Tuesday, featuring Chicago's own Lil Durk.

Gucci and Durkio had previously collaborated on the song "War Wit Us", marking "Rumors" as their second collaboration.

Their new song is accompanied by a music video in which the two rap artists can be seen back in the trenches, talking about fending off their rivals.

For Gucci Mane, it was his long-time rival Jeezy's close affiliate, Pookie Loc.

Jeezy's accomplice Pookie Loc was mentioned in the tune.

Gucci, Jeezy, and Pookie

Accidentally killed by Gucci in an attempted robbery in 2005, Pookie Loc was found buried behind a school in Georgia.

As time passed, Gouch's memory of that terrible night is still fresh in his mind, as he rhymes, "D.A. dropped my murder, didn't have evidence to prove it (Nah)/I think my house is haunted, yeah, by who? The ghost of Pookie (Woah)."

When Gucci turned himself in on the murder accusation, he acknowledged that he had fired his pistol but claimed that he had done so in self-defense.

Authorities withdrew the allegations against Gucci in January 2006 due to a lack of evidence supported by a witness who validated Gucci's version of events.

Since last year's VERZUZ battle, not much has been said about the long-running beef between Gucci Mane and Jeezy.

In the same VERZUZ battle, Gucci mentioned Pookie Loc while in battle with Jeezy.

Gucci Mane referred Pookie Loc, claiming, "we smoking on Pookie Loc tonight," prompting him and Young Jeezy to engage in a rap confrontation.

Their decades-long feud seemed to have settled down after the VERZUZ battle, only to have been revisited now as Gucci released "Rumors".

Rumors and Lil Durk

Before "Rumors" was released, Gucci anticipated he would have a smash on his hands, posting on Instagram the day before the release to say the song will have the streets going crazy.

The song demonstrates that Guwop and Durkio are not going to take it easy when it comes to music in the new year.

The Chicago rap star recently collaborated with Jeremih and 50 Cent on the new theme song for Power Book IV: Force, titled "Powder Power Respect," while Gucci Mane released a tribute album to the late Young Dolph, "Long Live Dolph".
