Over 70,000 people have signed a petition requesting Travis Scott to headline Coachella in 2023. This, despite the fact that the scandal he is embroiled in because of how tragic his Astroworld festival turned out to be. In fact, it was earlier reported that it is almost sure that Scott would not be asked to headline Coachella anymore.
Guess the hardcore fans are not taking that sitting down.
On Sunday, fans wanting to see the 30-year-old rapper play or be hauled on stage by Kanye West at this year's festival initiated an online vote to demand that he should be included in the festival's line-up next year.
Additionally, the event's organizer, James Conners, penned an op-ed for Change noting that the multi-artist event's executives had wronged Scott by removing him from its program after the fatal Astroworld concert, which claimed the lives of 11 people.
"After Coachella unfairly removed Travis Scott for Harry Styles, they need to do the right thing and rebook him immediately. Coachella switched Travis and Frank for Harry Styles and Billie Eilish? What kind of message does that send?," he wrote.
'Fans are demanding refunds and selling their tickets," Connors said, which for him, meant Coachella should already act now and bring back Travis Scott.

It was his opinion that the artist was not to blame for the tragic events that took place at the Astroworld Festival in November of 2013. "'We all know Astroworld tragedy wasn't Travis fault. Let him get back to performing on the biggest stages!," he wrote.
There are currently 70,532 people who want Scott to attend the music festival.
This is an interesting development considering the hate Travis was getting back in November. In fact, there was also a petition demanding Travis to never be given the chance to be part of the world's biggest festivals as well.
Sendero Secreto initiated a petition three months ago to remove the musician from the world's largest events.
As part of the agreement, AEG and Goldenvoice agreed to keep the rapper off their event rosters.
Since then, 63,697 individuals have signed the petition, putting it within striking distance of its original target of 75,000 signatures.
Ten concertgoers were killed in a crush during the show, the youngest of them was nine years old.
Astroworld's second night was canceled after Scott was heavily condemned for his activities during and following the festival.
Several days after the incident, he made an apologetic video, which many of his followers mocked for its apparent lack of acknowledgement for what had occurred.
After the events of Astroworld, the artist withdrew from the Day N Vegas Festival and was dismissed by many of his previous sponsors.
Scott's removal from Coachella's lineup was publicized this past December. It's interesting to note that even though many are condemning the singer, there are still some who believe in him.
