Glenn Wheatley's Legacy Remembered

The Queensland-born music icon started his career in the 1960s by serving as bassist for the Masters Apprentices. At that time, he famously played on several hit songs, including "Turn Up Your Radio" and "Because I Love You."

After playing with the band for years, he launched his own Wheatley Organization in 1975 and became the manager of Little River Band.

He made the biggest move in his life when he mortgaged his house just to help Farnham in his 1986 album, "Whispering Jack." The decision was worth it, though, as the project topped music charts for 25 weeks and became one of the biggest-selling albums in Australia.

Wheatley then became the singer's manager until his death.

Aside from Farnham, he also helped other musicians to take a leap in the industry. For instance, he lent a hand to Goodrem when she launched her debut album, "Innocent Eyes," in 2003. It also became one of the bestselling albums in the country.

Glenn Wheatley was survived by his wife, Gaynor Martin, and their three children.
