Red Hot Chili Peppers is staging a return after their 2016 album "The Getaway".

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced the release of "Unlimited Love", their twelfth studio album.

After 2016's "The Getaway", "Unlimited Love" is Red Hot Chilli Pepper's first new album with guitarist John Frusciante since 2006's Stadium Arcadium.

It is also the first time they have worked with veteran producer Rick Rubin in over two years.

NME reported that the reunion with Frusciante has "pushed each other in a positive way".

John's return

In the same interview, the band pointed out that the John Frusciante returning to the band was the "most monumental change" in their lives.

Since the late '80s, the guitarist has been in and out of the band, and his most recent appearance was on the band's seven-million-selling album' Stadium Arcadium' in 2006.

Josh Klinghoffer, a former tour understudy, took over for Frusciante in 2009.

Frusciante, in a Rolling Stone report, expounded that they began playing old songs of Johnny Watson, The Kinks, and Richard Barett while formulating for the album.

He also added that the feeling of "effortless fun" they had when they were playing songs by other people stayed with them the whole time until they were writing.

Creating Unlimited Love

As a part of the promotion for "Unlimited Love", the band will go on a North American tour, which will commence on July 23 in Denver, Colorado's Empower Field at Mile High Stadium.

In Arlington, Texas, on September 18, the game will come to a close at Globe Life Field.

Rolling Stone also states that drummer Chad Smith that the coming North American leg of their tour "will be really exciting", saying that they have written some of their best songs together, and they do have "something special".

While COVID-19 interrupted the plan of the band to record the album, the Red Hot Chili Peppers used the time to develop new material, eventually coming up with a total of 100 fresh new songs to choose from.

Frontman Kiedis described the band's recording process, saying the dynamic was "really healthy, constructive, and creative".

He furthered that they were able to "push each other in a good manner", a contradiction to their ability to be a bit too competitive at times, which may lead to friction.
