After Super Bowl's 'Good Morning Gorgeous,' Mary J Blige To Headline '2022 Roots Picnic' With Mickey Guyton

Before hitting the stage last Saturday for the NFL Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, hip-hop queen Mary J. Blige is already on a roll with the rollout of her latest album, "Good Morning Gorgeous."

Launched on the eve of the Super Bowl weekend, "Good Morning Gorgeous" is Blige's 14th studio album. Released for the first time through 300 Entertainment and her Mary Jane Productions imprint.

But after her triumphant performance at the Super Bowl Halftime show with fellow Hip-hop giants Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and Anderson .Paak, The Queen of Hip-hop Soul, is already booked on her next project.

The Roots Picnic 2022

Returning in June 2022, the iconic Roots Picnic will be making a comeback since 2019. Mary J. Blige, Mickey Guyton (who were both in the Super Bowl last weekend), Summer Walker, and Jazmine Sullivan headlines the 2-day festival.

The Roots Picnic Festival 2022 will be headlined, produced, curated, and hosted by Grammy-winning Hip-Hop group The Roots.

Co-presented by Live Nation Urban, the festival will take place at the Mann at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia for two days of music, art, and culture.

Wizkid, Kirk Franklin, Rick Ross, G Herbo, Keyshia Cole, Yebba, Kamasi Washington are among the many artists slated to perform.

An exclusive fan club pre-sale is available today, while the general public sale begins on Friday, February 18, 2022. Weekend, limited single-day tickers, and VIP packs are also offered.

IDescribing it as a "dream come true," organizers are thrilled to form a "once-in-a-lifetime set," with Mickey Guyton, G Herbo, Kirk Franklin, Wizkid, Wallo & Gillie, and Mary J Blige all in the same lineup.

Live Nation Urban President and Roots Manager Shawn Gee expressed his excitement on returning to the two days of the "music and culture" festival at the Mann at Fairmount Park in Pennsylvania.

"This year, Black Thought, Questlove and I attempted to curate a lineup that broke through the genre barriers that often separate us in black culture.", Gee added, noting the cultural importance.

The organizers have also chosen YouTube as the exclusive host for the festival.

Launched in 2007, The Roots Picnic was headlined by The Weeknd, Pharell, Snoop Dogg, Usher, A$AP Rocky, Future, Nas, the War On Drugs, Solange, Diplo, among many others.
