2021 is definitely Olivia Rodrigo's breakthrough year, and she is set on making 2022 another career-defining year with reaping the success of her debut album "SOUR" and venturing on new singles, collaborations, and more.
After signing at Geffen and Interscope Records, she kicked off 2021 with her "drivers license."
'drivers license'
Her debut single is the most successful track of her discography so far, as "drivers license" is nominated for three awards at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance.
The song which revealed Olivia Rodrigo to the world and online broke a string of records -- Spotify's Most Single Day Streams for a Non-Holiday Song, Biggest First Week Stream for a Song on Spotify, and Amazon Music.
At 17 years old, "drivers license" topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts making Olivia Rodrigo the youngest artist to debut on the top charts.
The song spent eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 charts and was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Eight months since it was released, "drivers license" broke another Spotify record as it hit a billion streams on the platform, making it the 100 most streamed song on the streaming giant.
But, these are all just accolades that her lead single received, the album "SOUR," which she released in May 2021, birthed to more chart-topping songs and the singer's success.
