It seems like another old-age feud will be reignited again in the coming weeks, especially the long-standing Brit Pop wars between Oasis and Blur.

Last month, in a Los Angeles Times interview, Blur/Gorrilaz Frontman Damon Albarn dropped comments that the Internet did not take very well.

The Albarn, Swift Songwriting Issue

When Los Angeles Times named Taylor Swift as an artist who does not rely on sound and attitude but also its songwriting prowess, Albarn retorted and claimed that Swift "doesn't write her own songs."

He continued to claim that Taylor Swift is only "co-writing," which in his opinion, "does not count."

"Co-writing is very different to writing. I'm not hating on anybody, I'm just saying there's a big difference between a songwriter and a songwriter who co-writes. Doesn't mean that the outcome can't be really great," the Blur frontman explained.

Describing himself as a "traditionalist," he goes on and even compared Swift to Billie Eilish and his brother FINNEAS, saying the latter was "darker - less endlessly upbeat."

Albarn, however, found himself in the receiving end of a swift backlash that he did not anticipate at all.

Taylor Swift quickly responded to the allegations and described the frontman's take as "completely false and so damaging," confirming that she writes all of her own songs.

Swift's producer, Jack Antonoff, who had worked extensively with Taylor Swift on several of her albums, also took a swipe at Twitter.

Albarn, swarmed with flak on his comment, apologized "unreservedly and unconditionally" to the pop star, saying he now "totally agreed" with Swift as the last thing he wanted to do was discredit her songwriting.

Taylor's defense

Aside from the army of Swifties that came into the defense of Taylor, the pop star was also backed up by other artists and unexpected influential people, including Chilean President Gabriel Boric.

After consoling Swift with the received backlash, the president offered "hugs from the South" affirming that she has a "huge group of supporters in the country" who knows she writes her own music.

Now, coming into the mix is Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, who has a long-standing beef with Damon Albarn.

Asked in a recent interview with NME, Liam Gallagher might be reigniting a fight again with his Albarn comments.

After being swarmed by Swifties, the Oasis frontman was sure that the Albarn would not be commenting the same thing again, considering that Gorillaz albums are also co-written.

"I think [Taylor's] fucking cool, man. She does write her songs and I'm sure she's co-wrote with people," Gallagher admits.
