Skibadee Dead At 54: Legendary MC's Cause of Death Mysterious

Skibadee, a popular MC and among the pioneers of drum 'n' bass, has passed away at the age of 54.

The MC's death was confirmed through his official Facebook page, with his family writing, "Hello everyone, as Alphonsos first born i unfortunately come some with sad news to say that skibadee has passed away, as a family we ask for some privacy but may he rest in peace."

At the time of this writing, there is still no information about the cause of his death.

According to NME, the musician started his career in 1993 through City Sound Radio. The Waterloo, London-born MC, later resided for Kool FM in 1995.

The crowd loved Skibadee as he constantly appeared in several events like Johnsons & Johnsons, Spirit of the Jungle, Thunders, Joy, and many more.

He later met MC Det and launched a project to combine hip-hop beats with drum 'n' bass tempos. The outcome created double-times effect.

Later, the two performed the project with its innovator, Stevie Hyper D., who passed away in 1998.

Throughout Skibadee's career, he had numerous tracks, which are a massive hit to fans, including "Inside Me" which amassed several awards like the 1Xtra award for Best MC and Stevie Hyper D Memorial Award For lifetime Achievement at the 2010 Drum & Bass Awards.

Other notable songs of the MC were "Never Gonna Break," "Skip To Da Beat," "Where the Drumz At," Tika Toc," and many more.

After the news of his death circulated online, tributes for him started pouring in on different social media platforms.

DJ Plastician took to Twitter to share a post, saying he was the first MC he ever heard and he's sure that many people his age could relate to his age.

"RIP Skibadee. So annoyed I didn't get to see this set in person but by far my favourite moment from him recently, makes me laugh every time. If I don't hear this at every rave ill be pissed," one fan wrote.

Friction, the MC's frequent collaborator, said he had good times with Skibadee before his passing, saying he was an absolute legend and his work will be remembered forever.
