Alanis Morisette Tour With Garbage
With shows in North America and Canada, Alanis Morisette sought the help of the American rock band Garbage as her front act.
The rock band Garbage will next join Morissette on the North American part of the tour, which will see her make many stops in Canada before winding her way through the United States.
On the previous year's tour, Garbage joined the "Thank U" singer for two nights at the Hollywood Bowl, which marked the end of the tour's American leg.
Billboard was in attendance for the tour's second evening performance at the venue when Morissette showcased her powerful, "crystal-clear" voice as well as her penchant for updating lyrics to reflect life as she knows it in the twenty-first century.
Alanis Morisette's New Music
Ahead of the continuation of her tour, Rolling Stone reported that the "You Oughta Know" hitmaker will release her new song "Olive Branch" on March 11, co-written by Michael Farrell, who also produced the new track with Henrik Jakobsson.
Fans of the tour will get to hear the new song live, along with the songs from Morisette's debut album "Jagged Little Pill," which celebrates its 25th anniversary.
After releasing the smash album Jagged Little Pill in 1995, Morissette rose to rock 'n' roll star status, which she holds at 47.
The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks, making her the youngest artist in history to win album of the year at the Grammy Awards in 1996 at 21 years old.
