After the successful debut of her collaboration with Dua Lipa last week, Megan Thee Stallion will be starring in her own documentary anytime soon.
Megan Thee Stallion, Grammy 2021's Best New Artist, might be seeing herself as a subject of a documentary series produced by Time Studios and her management company, Roc Nation.
Variety reports that the two companies have already announced the news today.
Megan Thee Stallion New Documentary
Helming the directorial spot, is "Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls" director Nneka Onurah. Lizzo's new series will be released soon on Prime Video.
Onurah's HBO Original "Legends of the Underground" is currently in the running for GLAAD's Award for Best Documentary.
She is also included in the Barack Obama-featured hybrid scripted/documentary comedy series on Netflix.
Despite having a director to man the top spot, no platform has been announced yet on where the documentary will be broadcasted.
Source says that the documentary will feature Hottie's personal and career milestones. The premise also promised to touch on how Megan overcame personal hurdles to thrive on her interesting and challenging career.
Time Studios Co-Head of Documentary Loren Hammonds is thrilled to work with Roc Nation to tell Megan The Stallion's story to a worldwide audience.
"Millions of people are familiar with her as an entertainer, but this series will give her a chance to share her truth as never before. Her story is a powerful one, and the accomplishments that she continues to achieve are remarkable," Hammonds elaborated.
She also highlighted that they are lucky to have the opportunity to capture the rapper at her "crucial moment in life and career," where she is "growing exponentially in both her artistry and global impact."
When Megan Thee Stallion was selected as one of the annual Time 100 in 2020, the studio stated that the publication had previously collaborated with her.
In 2019, Megan inked a management agreement with Roc Nation Entertainment.
Megan Thee Stallion Label Lawsuit
Before signing to Roc Nation, Megan Thee Stallion was embroiled in a fiasco with the former label "1501 Entertainment."
Megan sued the label last month for the second time for refusing to allow her to fulfill the terms of her contract and seeking a ruling that her "Something for Thee Hotties" meets the legal definition of an "album."
This prompted the label to countersue for breach of contract.
The management lawsuit is different from the ongoing lawsuit against Tory Lanez, who shot the Houston rapper in August 2020.
