Sabrina Carpenter is grieving. The singer just lost her "greatest fan" - her grandma. Fans would know how close she was to her grandmother, often posting about her on her social media.

The "Fast Times" singer, 22, paid a touching tribute to her late grandmother Marilyn Cartwright on Instagram, saying she was "extremely glad" to have held her hand "one last time."

"I couldn't have dreamt up a better grandma than you. You were always so interested in the details that most people look right past, you made every person you spoke to feel so individually important," Carpenter wrote. "You gave me so much authentic genuine love for so much of my life and I will never take that for granted. I really miss my biggest fan."

"Nothing is or will ever be the same without you here," Carpenter ended the heartbreaking post, after joking that she hopes heaven has ping pong and can understand the language of sarcasm.

The singer, as well as "Girl Meets World" actress uploaded a range of photos signifying how great her relationship was with her grandmother. One of these photos featured Cartwright as a young woman, sporting a shirt embossed with famous "Lady Marmalade" lyrics: "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir?"

The grandma was clearly a cool one. Other photos featured Carpenter wrapped up on grandma's arms and one even on her lap. They're clearly very, very close.

The death of her grandmother happens only two years after Carpenter lost her grandfather back in April 2020. She previously revealed how intimate her grandparents were. Despite the great loss, one can find comfort that Carpenter was loved so much by her grandparents.

In December 2019, she replied to a fan's Christmas greeting by sharing her plans for that special day, which is to play ping pong with her grandmother.

She once said her single "Smoke and Fire" was well-loved by her grandmother because it got a "hot beat" to it.

The singer just released a new single,, entitled "Fast Times."

"Fast Times" is slated to be on her upcoming fifth studio album, one she describes as reflective of a side of her that fans have yet to hear. She once said she's excited for this.

Grandma will be so proud to hear it in heaven, for sure.

Carpenter's new album will follow 2019's Singular Act II.
