Rapper Goonew's dead body was publicized during a "disrespectful final show," a now-viral video revealed.

Weeks after Goonew was shot and killed in Prince George's County, a new viral video confirmed that his dead body suddenly popped upright at a club event in Washington D.C.

A Twitter user shared the clip online, showing the corpse being held up onstage during a viewing at Bliss Nightclub. Several people were seen lurking around his body and taking pictures with it while music was playing.

The venue also created an entry pass called a "celebration of life" for the hip-hop star.

XXL's sources initially thought that it could be a wax figure, but rapper Black Fortune, who attended the event said there was no "wax figure" at all.

The viewing immediately led to condemnation, as it reportedly disrespected Goonew after his death. Bliss Nightclub has since issued an apology statement and disclosed further details about the event.

"Our deepest condolences to Goonew's family, friends, and fans. Bliss was contacted by a local funeral home to rent out our venue for Goonew's home-going celebration. Bliss was never made aware of what would transpire. We sincerely apologize to all those who may be upset or offended," the club told XXL, per Complex.

What Happened to Rapper Goonew?

The public viewing came weeks after his manager confirmed his death to The Washington Post. According to the news outlet, he died after he was transported to a local hospital following a shooting incident on March 18.

Goonews' mother, Patrice Parker Morrow, told local CBS affiliate WUSA9 that she and the whole family could not believe what happened to the rapper.

"All he wanted to do is try to get his family out of the hood. He had a heart bigger than his body, when they took him, they took me," the matriarch said.

The 24-year-old performer officially joined the industry when he released his first mixtape, "Certified Goon," in 2017. He released follow-up tracks "Goonwick," "Big 64," and "Goonrich Urkel" the next year.

Before his passing, he famously worked with other hip-hop artists, especially with his regular collaborator Lil Dude. The duo was able to release mixtapes and singles in the past years, including "Homicide Boat." He also performed with Kayvo, Xanman, Keezah, and A$AP Ant in the years leading to his death.
