CMT Music Awards 2022: Performers, Nominees, Voting, More!

A week after the GRAMMYs, country music will now be holding one of its biggest nights with the annual CMT Music Awards 2022.

The CMT Music Awards 2022 will take place on Monday, Apr. 11, 2022, at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennesee.

Hosted by CMT winner Kelsey Ballerini and Anthony Mackie, this year's fan-voted awards show will finally air globally on CBS since it was solely aired on CMT for the past 20 years.

CMT Music Awards 2022 inaugural broadcast on CBS packs a roster of star-studded country music performers, including Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Bryan Adams, Riley Green, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Maren Morris, and Little Big Town.

The Judds will also be making their first televised performance in 20 years at this year's CMT Music Awards.

Mickey Guyton, Ryan Hurd, Cody Johnson, Jimmie Allen, Walker Hayes, Lainey Wilson, and Keith Urban will also take the stage of a 9,000 seat capacity auditorium.

Carrie Underwood, who has recently announced her upcoming album, will be performing from Las Vegas' Resorts World Theatre, where she currently holds her ongoing Las Vegas Residency "Reflection."

CMT Music Awards 2022 Nominees

Per usual, the CMT Music Awards are only composed of eight categories. Now they are introducing another category solely made for comeback acts.

The CMT Music Awards 2022 unveiled the "Trending Comeback Song of the Year" category. Nominated for this category are the following:

1. "Freight Train" (Alan Jackson)
2. "Neon Moon" (Brooks & Dunn)
3. "9 to 5" (Dolly Parton)
4. "I'm A Survivor" (Reba McEntire)
5. "Suds in the Bucket" (Sara Evans)
6. "Love Story" (Taylor Swift)
7. "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" (Shania Twain)

CMT Music Awards 2022 Voting

The CMT Music Awards are widely known as a fan-voted awards show, contrary to other music award shows where the winners are chosen via a panel of music critics, a jury, or a mix of music executives and fans.

Fans can still vote for their favourite nominated artists until Monday's final list of awardees is announced.

Kane Brown tops the bill with four nominations, while CMT Music Awards 2022 Host Kelsea Ballerini is nominated for three. Mickey Guyton holds three spots, while Cody Johnson and BRELAND have two.
