J Balvin 'Jose Tour' Postponed

In an Instagram post, J Balvin broke the news to his 51.9 million fans that the highly-awaited "Jose Tour" will be postponed.

Per his caption, which the singer has written graciously in English and in Spanish, COVID-19 has "caused some unforeseen production challenges," which prompted him "to keep my promise of giving you the absolute best show possible."

"Because I believe you deserve that, I've made the difficult decisions to reschedule the tour. All the details are still being worked through with my incredible team, but we'll be getting you the new dates within the next few weeks and honoring your tickets," he said.

With ticket refunds still hanging on the line, a quick preview of Ticketmaster shows that there were still a huge number of unsold tickets in some venues of the tour.

The 25-date tour is supposed to start at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, on Apr. 9, 2022, and will wrap up in Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The announcement came on the heels a week after Balvin and Sheeran released two new collaborative songs together.

J Balvin, Ed Sheeran Collaboration

Ed Sheeran and J Balvin are considered two of the biggest musicians worldwide, with each being famous for their respective styles.

Balvin, dubbed as the "Prince of Reggaeton," leads "Sigue," an upbeat dance song that features Ed Sheeran.

On the other hand, Ed's "Forever My Love" is a moving ballad, where the "Thinking of You" hitmaker is known for, including J Balvin's vocals on the unlikely collaboration.

Sheeran sang Spanish in both tunes, marking the first time he used the language in any of his records.

The idea of the two of them collaborating stemmed from when they chanced upon each other in a New York Gym, where they eventually bonded over coffee and fatherhood.

"The first two songs we wrote were 'Sigue' and 'Forever My Love' and I absolutely love them. He wanted to bring me into his world, and I wanted to bring him into mine. It was a proper challenge learning Spanish for this and I had so much fun doing it," Ed Sheeran stated. (via Variety.)
