Archie Eversole, a rapper from Atlanta, was murdered at the age of 37. He was allegedly shot to death by his brother, Alexander Kraus.
The musician was shot on March 25 on Golf Vista Circle, according to DeKalb County police.
On April 3, he passed away at a neighboring hospital from his injuries.
After responding to a call on Snapfinger Woods Drive, police discovered Eversole with a gunshot wound.
Immediately following the shooting, Kraus was detained and charged.
However, after the death of Eversole, he was initially charged with aggravated assault.
Bubba Sparxxx, a fellow rapper, was a featured artist on Eversole's 2002 single "We Ready."
There are a lot of sporting events where this song has been used in the past. "Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style," his debut album was released in the same year as this almost classic song. He was just 17 years old then.
Social media was swamped with heartfelt tributes to the German-born artist following her death.
In particular, NFL star Robert Griffin III tweeted, "The man who gave us 'We Ready,' the greatest Game Day anthem ever, has passed away at 37 years old. Rest In Peace Archie Eversole. Prayers up to his family and loved ones."
Sports journalist Brandon Caldwell also followed this up with, "Rip archie eversole, an energetic rapper who crafted a song and anthem which will outlive and still be wholly southern and atlanta."
"RIP Archie Eversole- one of his greatest hits would be this hood class titled 'We Ready,' " another wrote, with a slew of prayer emojis.
One fan made a touching tribute, to honor the rapper, and his hit song. According to him, "We Ready" helped him a lot, as it was the song that pushed him to survive his "re-injured ACL back in high school in 02."
The magic of the song never left him. He said he still uses this song when he works out, or right before he gets out of the car to go to the gym. He described the song as a "classic banger" that will never fail to get people pumped, him more so. "RIP Archie Eversole," the tribute ended.
"What happened to Archie Eversole is an incredible tragedy," one wrote, not just for the music industry but the sports world.
