After a roaring success at the recently concluded Coachella, Harry Styles' "As It Was" returned to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Harry Styles certainly outdid himself with his massive debut at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival at Indio, California, last Apr. 15, 2022, until Apr. 24, 2022.
On Coachella's first day, Styles had his first live performance of "As It Was" along with two new unreleased songs for his next album, "Harry's Home."
The "Watermelon Sugar" hitmaker also surprised fans with a duet with Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain and his own reimagined rendition of "What Makes You Beautiful" with Lizzo on his second weekend.
Evidently, his performance of "As It Was" in Coachella resulted in its soaring streaming success - bumping it up on the top spot again, its second nonconsecutive week at the No. 1.
Harry Styles' As It Was' Leads Billboard Hot 100 Again
Released last Mar. 31, 2022, "As It Was" was the first track this year to debut at the No. 1 spot in the charts.
Before the track's release, all the No. 1 spot takers were either 2021 tracks or debuted between the charts and only peaked at No. 1 accordingly.
Jack Harlow's "First Class" dethroned Styles in its second week on the chart. However, "As It Was" reclaimed its rightful spot at the top in the April 15-21 tracking week, bumping "First Class" to No. 2.
Luminate reports that the track generated 43.2 million radio airplay audience impressions last week. In comparison, "First Class" debuted atop the charts last week because of its massive streaming impressions, while "As It Was" bolted to No. 1 because of its relatively large radio airplay.
