Camilla Cabello has been announced as the new face of Victoria's Secret's Bombshell fragrance on April 26.
The "Senorita" singer actually makes history with this partnership.
Photographed by Zooey Gross, the Cuban-American pop star's ad will be the brand's first-ever bilingual campaign.
"For me, being a Bombshell is being exactly who you are and having the courage to celebrate who you are, every day," Cabello said in a statement. "I'm excited to join Victoria's Secret in embracing the Bombshell in every woman."
On set, Camila radiated an effortless presence throughout the day - her vibrancy and confidence shone through organically. This is according to Victoria's Secret chief creative director Ral Martinez herself. According to her, this scent and campaign were born out of a celebration of the singer's core and personality.
Victoria's Secret will also organize an event in New York City next week to commemorate the collection, transforming the High Line into "The Bombshell Gardens" from May 3-9. Throughout the week, the pop-up will have "fragrance bars, peony-adorned installations, personalization stations, and the chance to meet Victoria's Secret's Bombshell perfumer Adriana Medina."
Cabello, in the meantime, is also keeping herself busy following the release of her third solo album, "Familia," earlier this month.
The studio set debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart on April 23, marking the pop star's third straight top 10 album, following 2018's Camila and 2019's Romance, which debuted at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively.
While promoting the album on Today, the singer discussed her desire to achieve "better mental health" through her lyrics on the project.
"I really just wanted to be free. I wanted to feel joy in the studio, I wanted to be as transparent as possible, and I feel like so many of these songs," she told Carson Daly at the time.
The brand rebranded in 2020 following a barrage of negative press that resulted in the cancellation of their annual lingerie display and the closure of numerous outlets in 2019.
The new ad became more inclusive, incorporating veterans over 50, curvier beauty, and a transgender model with some of the day's A-list catwalk queens.
Neither were the girls all young and svelte blonde beauty. Candice Huffine, a plus-size model, and the more natural-looking Solange van Doorn, as well as trans model Valentina Sampaio, were all signed.
Helena Christensen was also included, despite her advanced age.
Additionally, they included more contemporary celebrities such as Daniela Pestova, Joan Smalls, Babara Palvin, Jasmine Tookes, Lais Ribeiro, and Romee Strijd. Previously, VS favored ethereal bombshell models like as Alessandra Ambrosio, Elsa Hosk, and Gisele Bundchen.
