According to sources, rapper Cardi B - whose husband Offset co-wrote the smash song "Versace" with Migos - will wear the iconic brand at tonight's Met Gala, dubbed the fashion prom.
Later that night, she'll host an afterparty at the Standard with Playboy.
Along with Cardi, Versace will dress stars such as singer Maluma - who is the face of the brand's spring 2022 collection - as well as model Gigi Hadid, who walked in the brand's show during Milan Fashion Week in February after modeling alongside sister Bella in January - and Emily Ratajkowski, the brand's new eyewear campaign face.
Cardi B, aka "Bodak Yellow," has a close relationship with the Italian design brand. She and her sister Hennessy modeled Versace ensembles on Instagram in March, including the expensive La Medusa Mini Bag.
This is not the end of the family drama. Cardi shared a photo of her then-infant Kulture wearing a $830 Versace barocco print baby puffer onesie in 2019.
Offset's "Versace" features phrases such as "Come in my room, my sheet Versace. When i go to sleep, I dream Versace," and "Look at my closet Versace, Versace."

Cardi was a major draw on the Met's red carpet. In 2019, she dominated the show in a crimson Thom Browne gown embellished with 30,000 feathers, 44 carats of rubies, a bejeweled swim cap, and a train that required five people to assist in carrying up the steps.
Cardi earned the coveted approval of Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue.
"I was completely in awe of the stunning dress that Cardi B wore to the Met this year," the editor said in the "Go Ask Anna" video series following the event. "She looked unbelievable. . . She could barely move, but it made no difference. People parted like the queen coming through because she looked so fantastic."
Cardi made her Gala debut a year previously in Jeremy Scott's Moschino while pregnant.
If Cardi B is anything - she's versatile. Not just with her fashion sense, but her singing style.
She's one of the best rappers there is, but she can also do country, really, really well.
For the latest episode of her Cardi Tries _ series on Messenger, the "Bodak Yellow" artist traded in her Balenciagas for a pair of cowboy boots and a rhinestone-studded cowboy hat. The 29-year-old GRAMMY winner is joined by country artist Jimmie Allen, who goes out of his way to make her feel at ease with everything country.
Cardi and Allen spend the day in Los Angeles' Cowboy Palace Saloon, where Allen teaches Cardi how to line dance and Cardi rides a mechanical bull. However, the highlight of the day occurs near the episode's conclusion, when Cardi and Allen perform a surprise duet of Cardi's 2020 smash, "Money," with a country twist.
