Jon Batiste is slated to perform at the premiere of American Symphony at the Carnegie Hall. However, his upcoming performance stumbled on a rather huge roadblock.
The GRAMMY-winning artist announced on social media yesterday the reason for the postponement of his debut show.

Sharing to his 160,000 followers, Jon Batiste shared a hefty message and a clip of him playing the piano on the stage of Carnegie Hall.
"Hey family, I woke up yesterday and tested positive for COVID-19. To keep my family, my friends and our loyal fans safe, I will be absent from @colbertlateshow and will also unfortunately have to postpone the premiere of AMERICAN SYMPHONY at Carnegie Hall which - as many of you know - I have been working on for years," he wrote on Instagram.
The 35-year-old singer tested positive for the COVID-19 virus days after attending the 2022 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Batiste revealed that due to the quarantine regulations in place, he would have to postpone his debut performance at the premiere of "American Symphony" at Carnegie Hall.
But aside from the performance he had been working on for years already, he will also be absent from "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," his daily show where he started and works as the bandleader and musical director.
"I have poured my heart and soul into this work and I am so disappointed that I can't see it through at the moment, but it WILL happen one day. Thank you to my incredible team and all the musicians who have been on this journey with me. I look forward to the day I can share the stage with you all again and share this work with the world. Stay safe out there ," the "Freedom" hitmaker elaborated.

Although this performance was slated years ago, Jon Batiste's music career has catapulted to another level after his big night at the recently concluded Grammy Awards 2022.
He did not just become the most nominated artist of the night with 11 nominations, including the coveted Record of the Year and Album of the Year.
On Music's Biggest Night, he also had the biggest night for going home with the most gramophones - five GRAMMYs, including Album of the Year.
Batiste made history for having the Biggest Post-Grammys Sales Spike in the Digital Era with 2739% in one week. Since his win, "Freedom" has increased more than 3000% globally, including in China, the Philippines, and India.
