Taylor Hawkins received a heartfelt gift from Pearl Jam months after his tragic death.

Pearl Jam held another concert on Saturday at Inglewood, California's The Forum. While the event was set to meet their fans again, they also took the chance to share their love for the late drummer through a cover of one of Foo Fighter's hit song, "Cold Day in the Sun."

The track from Foo Fighter's "In Your Honor" presented Hawkins on lead vocals. With that, Peal Jam allowed their drummer, Matt Cameron, to lead them on the song. He also collaborated with the late drummer in the Nighttime Boogie Association side project.

Before covering it, Eddie Vedder shared a short message to the crowd and remembered the time when the rock industry lost the incredible drummer.

According to the frontman, people start to notice that they continue to lose someone more and more as they get older.

"But sometimes, like this, it's so unexpected. But also makes it harder because he was someone who truly, truly loved living life on this planet. So I guess the one thing we can be consoled by is the fact that he never wasted a moment, and he did live his life to the fullest. We just want more of it," he said.

It was not the first time Pearl Jam honored Hawkins. Earlier this week, he also revealed the close bond between Hawkins and Cameron.

Even in an interview before his death, Hawkins told Rolling Stone that Cameron is in his top 10 all-time drummers, calling him the Neil Peart of their generation. Since the Pearl Jam's drummer can play guitar, too, Hawkins said he "hates" how good Cameron is.

Remembering Taylor Hawkins

Hawkins unexpectedly passed away before Foo Fighter's scheduled performance in Bogotá, Colombia's Festival Esterio Picnic.

"The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever," the band said on Twitter. "Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time."

He reportedly suffered chest pain while at a hotel in the city. Medical responders were sent to the scene but failed to revive him.

Meanwhile, Colombia's Attorney General's Office revealed that his urine toxicology test detected 10 substances, including opioids, THC, tricyclic antidepressants, and benzodiazepines. The Daily Mail also reported forensic experts' statement, saying that Hawkins' heart weighed at least 600 grams - which was heavier than the average of 300 to 350 pounds.
