Denzel Curry has utilized numerous aliases throughout his career, including Zel, Zeltron, and Black Metal Terrorist. Fans have heard them all. He now has a new label for himself though - "the best rapper alive." He truly believes he bests them all, and it's up to fans to whether agree or not.
In a new interview with XXL covering the release of Curry's critically acclaimed album "Melt My Eyez See Your Future," the 27-year-old Florida MC was candid about how he views himself and dropped a major line at the end of the conversation, which was apparently conducted before the album's March release.
He called on fans to watch out for him, when asked if he had any closing remarks to end the interview. "Look out for any of the next projects that's 'bout to come out. I'm 'bout to shake the whole game up. I don't care what anybody got to say, bro. I'm the best rapper alive. Point blank, period."
Zel's message to his followers is included in the same interview in which he discussed the shifting environment of hip-hop and what that means for him. As he noted, he witnessed the game go from "90s stuff" in 2013 to its current state.
"Then everybody wanted to be trap," Curry said. "Then everybody wanted to be sad. I'm watching all that stuff evolve over time. The way that hip-hop is going right now, it feels like a hybrid. But you gotta remember, hip-hop is always gonna change. That's something I even had to realize doing it."

Denzel is proud of how far he's come in his artistic journey, but he tweeted on Sunday night, after Kendrick Lamar released "The Heart Part 5", that he wants to amp up his game. He probably saw something in Lamar's video that inspired him or pressured him, either way.
"N****s is built different," he said, after watching the video, and he said he "gotta step up" his game.
Interestingly, the video he so admired is now quite controversial, as it is hit by plagiarism claims. According to a rapper called AK, Kendrick Lamar's music video concept is certainly stolen from his video, called "Family Tree." He even provided evidence to his claims, highlighting the fact that he and Lamar are under Universal. He said his concept was "so sick," and Kendrick's music video is "exactly the same thing."
Check out the proof he presented below:
