There have been quite a few jaw dropping moments in hip-hop but we've narrowed it down to just eight. Check out our picks for shocking moments in hip-hop.
1. Kanye West says President George W. Bush doesn't care about black people.
The Gulf Coast and the City of New Orleans in particular was still grappling with the catastrophic after-effects of Hurricane Katrina. Emotions were high and tensions were thick as the city's residents were left to fend for themselves while being criticized by the media.
Former President George W. Bush's slow response to the natural disaster raised many eyebrows and considering the NOLA's majority African-American population in its St. Bernard Parish and Ninth Ward communities, the issue of race came to play. Outspoken rapper Kanye West said what he believed everyone was thinking during a TV fundraiser for the victims of Hurricane Katrina days after the storm.
2. Erykah Badu gets naked.
A snippet from a report of President John F. Kennedy's motorcade arrival in Dallas sets an eerie tone for Erykah Badu's "Window Seat" video. She parks the car, while fully clothed, and begins walking down the same streets JFK traveled on the day he was assassinated in 1963.
She begins to strip as she walks and leaves her clothes where they fall. By the end of the video, Badu is totally naked and shot in the head.
3. Tupac and Biggie shot and killed.
The East Coast-West Coast beef spearheaded by Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. was at an all-time high when things came to abrupt end as both rappers were shot and killed on separate occasions.
Nearly 20 years after their deaths, their murders still remain a mystery.
4. Lil Wayne sells a million records in a week.
No one ever doubted he could do it but the fact that Lil Wayne actually sold a million records in a week was most certainly an eye-popping moment.
Tha Carter III was Weezy's first album to open at #1 on Billboard's weekly albums sales chart. It was the first studio offering since 50 Cent's 2005 LP The Massacre to sell more than 1 million copies in a single week.
5. Diddy runs the city.
After training for eight weeks, the hip-hop mogul took to the streets for the New York City Marathon.
Diddy, or Puff Daddy as we should say, finished the 26.2-mile race with an official time of four
hours, 14 minutes and 54 seconds and raised $2 million for the city's children.

6. Snoop Dogg says he smoked in the White House.
Uncle Snoop recently made a mind-boggling, yet somewhat believable, confession on his GGN ('Double G News Network') Youtube show. During a talk with comedian Jimmy Kimmel, Snoop revealed that he smoked weed in the White House.
Though his claim remains unsubstantiated, he wouldn't be the first musician to light up on Pennsylvania Avenue. Willie Nelson famously lit up a joint in the executive mansion during the term of Jimmy Carter.
7. Dr. Dre signs deal with Apple.
Back in May, Apple confirmed their acquisition of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine's Beats Music and Beats Electronics companies. The companies were sold for $2.6 billion, which will over time vest into approximately $400 million.
8. OutKast reunites.
Earlier this year, the Atlanta rap duo announced that they would be reuniting after a 10 year hiatus to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Big Boi and Andre 3000 later revealed they would be performing at over 40 festival dates beginning with Coachella.
