The Lovers & Friends Festival almost followed the Astroworld Festival tragedy following a false alarm.
Rolling Stone confirmed the brief pause of the Lovers & Friends Festival in Las Vegas following a security incident at the venue. Hundreds of attendees tried to get out of the festival after false rumors of gunfire emerged.
According to Las Vegas Journal-Review, the video boards around the area told the crowd that they had a security incident at the festival and that authorities began the investigation.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department later confirmed that it was a false alarm as there was no evidence that a shooting had occurred. The Lovers & Friends festival also resumed after the probe.
"The show has resumed at the @lvrsnfrndsfest after a report of gunfire heard near the festival was deemed unfounded. At this time, there is no evidence of a shooting," the LVMPD said in a tweet.
The festival also confirmed the incident and continued the lineup. However, hundreds of fans have already left the show.
It also took its time to thank the authorities for their quick response.
The two-day Live Nation event features Lauryn Hill, Usher, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Monica, TLC, and Mario.
Lovers & Friends Festival Concertgoers Left Injured After Reports of Gunfire
While the concert resumed afterward, some attendees spent the rest of their night at different medical facilities after sustaining injuries during the supposed safe evacuation.
According to the news outlet, fans started to head to the exits when the threat broke. However, some of them ended up on the ground getting stomped.
The event almost became similar to the Astroworld Festival tragedy.
Ten people died during Travis Scott's concert, with the 9-year-old Ezra Blount as the youngest victim. Thousands of others were also left injured.
Blount's father said the doctors induced a coma to his son to prevent further brain damage. The procedure ultimately decreased the electrical activity and metabolic rate of Blount's brain. In the victim's case, he needed to be in a coma to control his brain's swelling to prevent further damage.
The young attendee ended up being trampled when he lost his consciousness after falling into the crowd during the rush.
Bharti Shahani, John Hilgert, Brianna Rodriguez, Franco Patino, Jacob Jurinek, Danish Baig, Axel Acosta, Rodolfo Peña, and Madison Dubisko also succumbed after sustaining injuries.
