It seems as though Lil' Kim has a one-track mind. This Nicki Minaj beef got started and Kim's going to end it, no matter how many diss tracks it takes.
Kim hit Minaj with the one-two combo after her back-to-back releases of her version of the "Flawless (Remix)" and then "Identity Theft."
Guess she wasn't feeling Minaj referring to herself as the "Queen of Rap" and presumably rekindling their beef.
On "Flawless (Remix)" the Brooklyn femcee sends for the head of Barbz rapping, ""Am I trippin' or did this ho just say my name? Queen of rap, f**k outta here / Queen's back, f**k outta here / Time to get this rap b***h up outta here."
But hearing Lil Kim constantly take shots at her younger counterpart is getting a little tiring. Here are five things Kim could be doing instead of dissing Minaj.
1. Embrace motherhood.
Just two months ago, Kim gave birth to her fist child, Royal Reign. Throughout her pregnancy, she opened up to fans sharing her baby shower registry and invitation on social media. Last month on her 40th birthday, she shared her first photo of baby Royal, but it seems like Kim has shifted her energy since then.
"I just had a baby 'bout a week ago," she raps on the "Flawless (Remix)."
Gotta admit, we'd like to see more of the cute kid.
2. Promote her artist.
Also in June, Lil Kim's artist Tiffany Foxx released her King Foxx: Rule By Decree mixtape. Prior to the tape's release, Kim posted its cover on her Instagram but has made no such mention of Foxx since.
3. Release an album.
Nearly every track Kim has released recently has some reference to Minaj. From "Black Friday" to "I Am Kimmy Blanco," she just won't let up, but none of her releases have been super hot. Kim should drop one more album and bow out gracefully. The last album Kim released was The Naked Truth via Atlantic Records in 2005.
4. Realize this is a one-sided beef.
Minaj found herself another target and has been coming for blood in the form of Iggy Azalea. Lil' Kim simply just isn't on her radar anymore. Constantly sending for Minaj with no response is making the "Crush on You" rapper look like a jealous old head desperate to get back in the spotlight. Not a good look.
5. Mentor other female rappers.
Remy Ma was just released from prison and no doubt she could use some allies on her side. The Queens rapper recently opened up about her desire to make a "chick record," something Kim is familiar with (i.e. 1997's "Not Tonight (Remix)" featuring Left Eye, Missy Elliot, Da Brat and Angie Martinez). With all of the emerging female rap talent, Kim's guidance could be of use to many.
