The second generation of Reggaeton stars is dominating the music scene and Bad Bunny is taking the lead. With his most recent album, the Puerto Rican artist made historic strides on the Billboard Charts this week.
Hailed as the Top Latin Artist at the recently-concluded Billboard Music Awards 2022, Bad Bunny has had a massive week, and probably a greater month ahead.
Bad Bunny New Album 'Un Verano Sin Ti' Historic Billboard Milestones
To start off, Bad Bunny has taken over the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 with four of his tracks. "Moscow Mule" debuts the highest at No. 4, trailing "Titi Me Pregunto" at No. 5, and "Despues De La Playa" at No. 6. Closing the list is his recent collaboration with Chencho Corleone, "Me Porto Bonito."
Aside from the four songs in the Top 10, the 28-year-old singer debuted a total of 22 songs on the Hot 100 charts simultaneously this week - marking him the second youngest artist to do such a feat, Lil Uzi Vert is the youngest.
With Bunny's tremendous debut, he brings the total number of Spanish-language songs to chart on the Hot 100 this 2022 to 34, the second highest so far. 2020 is the highest on the chart with a sum of 41 songs.
The album, "Un Verano Sin Ti," is nothing short of records as it even bested Bad Bunny's personal best. "Un Verano Sin Ti" dethrones Future's No. 1 hit "I Never Liked You" on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Bad Bunny surpassed his personal best as his newest album became the second full Spanish-language album to hit No. 1.
True enough, the Puerto Rican singer is the only artist to do such thing as his "El último Tour Del Mundo," is the first to achieve the feat.
Luminate reports that "Un Verano Sin Ti" generated 274,000 equivalent album units on its tracking week - the biggest week for any Latin music album ever and the biggest album debut this year on the charts.
In terms of streaming records, Bad Bunny's newest project tallied 356.66 million on-demand official streams on its debut week as it holds the record for the biggest streaming week for a Latin Album Ever.
To support this huge album, Bad Bunny will embark on the "Bad Bunny: World's Hottest Tour" around August 2022 which includes 43 stops in North and Latin America.
