In a TikTok video, Lance Bass reenacted a portion of Amber Heard's testimony, drawing criticism. It was fine at first, with many lauding his "acting" skills. However, when it became viral and reached more people, even outside of TikTok's space, some took to Twitter to claim he sparks disgust and disappointment. Some even said it is not surprising, considering his poor treatment of Britney Spears.
This week, the "Aquaman actress" testified during the defamation trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp. She is countersuing him on an opinion piece she wrote in 2018 in which she identified herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse.
On Monday, to commemorate the trial's resumption after a week's hiatus, the NSYNC singer created a TikTok video in which he enacts an alleged episode of abuse reported by Amber during her testimony.
In the voiceover, Amber can be heard saying, "I lose my balance, at this point, we're sitting next to each other on the edge of the couch, or I was on the edge of the couch," Amber can be heard saying in the voiceover. "I was just sitting there on this carpet, looking at the dirty carpet, wondering how I wound up on this carpet and why I never noticed that the carpet was so filthy before. I just didn't know what else to do, I didn't know what to say, I didn't know how to react."
During the voiceover, Lance can be seen falling, sitting on a sofa, and lying on a rug and even sniffing it.
In celebration of the resumption of the trial, the 43-year-old captioned the video, "In honour of the trial starting back up... Had. To. Do. It."
Twitter users called the video "disgusting and disturbing" in response to the singer's video on TikTok.
"F**k Lance Bass and f**k anyone who thinks lip-syncing to a victim's description of abuse is remotely funny," one wrote, while another commented, "If there's anything Lance Bass loves doing, it's hopping on the coattails of a scandal for views and clocks. Even if it's as low as making fun of domestic abuse victims. Gross."

Then there is a swarm of commenters who ask people to remember how poorly he treated Britney Spears. Even though he's a friend and he knew something off was happening with Britney, he chose to stay quiet and away.
It can be recalled that Lance Bass has commented on Britney Spears' continuing conservatorship struggle and the effect it has had on their friendship.
The former NSYNC member revealed in a new interview that he hasn't spoken to Britney in years because they have "been kept apart." Fans were actually fine with that but he also added oil to the fuel by claiming Spears was the one acting weirdly and somehow unbelievable.
"I definitely believe in the #FreeBritney movement," Bass said on an episode of Heather Dubrow's World podcast. "I believe that she needs to be away from the dad, she needs to pick her own people to run this conservatorship if she even needs one, especially choosing her own lawyer."
He then added, "The only thing that I don't subscribe to is that she's sending cryptic messages and all that type of stuff. It's like when the conspiracy theories start, it's a little much," he continued. "I like to stick with facts. But the main thing that I'm concerned about is court systems and this judge.... It's scary."
