Harry Styles Denies Taylor Swift is the 'Frustrating' Girl in New Track 'Daylight'

Wednesday (May 18) morning, Harry Styles appeared on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show to sing two songs from his upcoming Harry's House album, discuss appearing naked on TV, and discuss his reaction to Will Smith's Oscars attack on Chris Rock.

Stern was mainly curious in whether the seductive House song "Cinema" - which includes the phrase "if you're getting yourself wet for me I guess you're all mine" - is about the singer's girlfriend, actress/director Olivia Wilde. - is about the singer's girlfriend, the actress Olivia Wilde.

Most of the time when I write songs they kind of start out as, like, I guess mine," Styles said while measuring his words. "It's important to write from whatever you're going through at the time," he added, saying the goal is to do your best to capture a moment.

Undeterred, the host also explored the hypnotic track "Daylight," which Styles said as one of his favorites and the result of a late-night "stream of consciousness" session in the studio that he's glad he stayed up to record. Harry stated that his band began working on the song after a full day of work, but everyone was exhausted after a lengthy session.

"We must find a way to finish this now," he recounted to have thought, knowing that the situation will be different in the morning.

Therefore, they remained up all night to complete the project and celebrated by viewing the sunrise from the beach.

"Reading your horoscope, you were doing cocaine in my kitchen/ You never listen/ I hope you're missing me by now/ If I was a bluebird I would fly to you/ You be the spoon, dip you in honey so I can stick to you," Stern said, reciting the lyrics about a lover who, despite Harry's affection, had rejected him.

Styles admitted that he was disappointed because a specific woman had not replied as he had anticipated, leaving him frustrated. Was it Taylor Swift, considering she also has a song entitled "Daylight," as pointed out by Stern?

It could be quite a stretch though since the two actually dated - so no one shunned anyone here. Even Stern said he could be over-analyzing everything. Styles smiled, which rouses Stern's suspicion further.

But Styles was quite direct in denying it.

"You know I'd love to tell you you're spot-on, but you're not," Harry said of the summery R&B jam. "We will always wonder," the singer added.
