Rod Wave has been a hot topic over the past few hours after an arrest warrant affidavit made rounds online, alleging that he choked his ex-girlfriend while there were children inside the house. Today, the rapper's camp is speaking out to clarify the issue.

In an update published by Rolling Stone, the musician's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, said the charges against the rapper have been dismissed.

The Osceola County Attorney's Office will also not be moving forward with the case.

Cohen clarified that the issue was a misunderstanding between the pair, which led to Wave's arrest.

The update comes a few hours after Tampa Bay Times reported that Rod Wave was arrested after allegedly choking his ex-girlfriend inside their home with their children around.

Wave and his partner had been dating for four years and they had two children together.

The "Heart on Ice" rapper, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, is said to be facing a felony charge of domestic battery by strangulation.

The unnamed woman called 911 twice after Wave became physically aggressive with her a few months back.

His ex detailed the incident, saying she was sleeping when her partner entered the bedroom and started choking her until she couldn't breathe.

Wave accused his ex of speaking to other men while they were in a relationship.

The report clarified that the children were sleeping in a separate room at the time of the incident.

This was not the first alleged incident as Wave came back and accused his ex of taking his phone. The rapper allegedly created a mess at her home by kicking storage shelves before throwing framed photos on the front porch.

The woman only sustained a scratch "near the left center of her back," and authorities have documented the said injuries. However, she declined medical attention.

Green was arrested in St. Petersburgh and was released from jail after paying his bail of $5,000 on May 3. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Two years ago, the outlet reported that Wave was also arrested in Atlanta, Georgia, after allegedly punching a promoter. He's facing a misdemeanor battery charge, and his case is still pending in court as of today.
