Lizzo clarifies rumors regarding surprise guests on her upcoming album - or rather, fuel them further. Lizzo collaborating with Harry Styles? The singer did not say yes, but she did not say no either. A Chris Evans one is also possible? Same.
Rumors that Lizzo will collaborate with Harry Styles have circulated recently, especially after she recently sang a duet with him at Coachella.
Asked to clarify this on "The Spout Podcast," Lizzo was quite elusive in her answer.
"That is so funny. The internet going to internet. That's all I'll say about that," she said in response to the possibility. The answer can certainly go both ways.
But Styles is not the only celebrity rumored to be part of her new album. Lizzo's crush Chris Evans is reportedly expected to make an appearance.
"I literally hit him up and was like, play piano on my album and he just said, 'Ha Ha', she revealed. "It would have been really cool, but unfortunately not this time.
Not this time. Meaning, there's a possibility one day - we can all hope.
Despite having to semi-dispel the rumors, Lizzo assures fans that Special will still contain "very fantastic songs."
"I think people are going to be really surprised at how many love songs are on this album," she revealed.
She has been diligently working on her new album Special, creating songs as recently as two months ago - "About Damn Time" was the latest tune she penned.
Recently, the singer expanded into television with her reality program "Watch Out For The Big Grrrls," which currently holds the number one spot on Prime Video. She believes the show is so popular because it continues to promote her message of body acceptance.
Lizzo said it must be the kind of stories that get told through that show. She expressed her immense pride for the females she chose to represent the demographic. All of them are said to be so talented, and at the same time, so willing to be exposed out there, even if it is a vulnerable position. She added that all the women she chose are 100% real, and not "aggressive" as most would term women being true to what they want and need. She added that this is why the show is popular, because so many women identify with this.
Lizzo merely wished, after years of grappling with her own self-perception, to pave the way for others to learn to love themselves. She highlighted the fact that she only wanted the next generation to practice self-love naturally.
She said she wants to make self-love simpler for the next generation, so that one day it's not even a topic of conversation; it's a given.
