Aerosmith's longstanding frontman Steven Tyler has reportedly checked in himself to rehab after a drug relapse.

The 74-year-old rock music icon has "voluntarily" entered rehab, based on the statement that the band has recently released.

Aerosmith Steven Tyler Relapsed, Checked Himself Into Rehab

In a joint statement that the band has posted, the band revealed that Steven Tyler had had a drug relapse after working on his sobriety for years already.

As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years. After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery," the statement reads.

The rock icon has confirmed that he was diagnosed with "Morton's neuroma," days after photos of his tangled toenails on the beach were snapped and made circles online.

Cleveland Clinic defined Morton's Neuroma as a foot condition that most often affects the nerves between the third and fourth toes. Two nerves connect there, and they can become trapped under the ligament, causing them to move awkwardly when a person walks, runs, or dances. (via NBC News)

However, this is not the first time the singer has been in rehab. He has been in and out of the center since his first one in the 80s. He admitted to having drank alcohol and used a wide variety of drugs, including cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and LSD.

Because of an intervention that his bandmates had set up, the rockstar eventually entered rehab and had a struggling journey to sobriety.

Aerosmith Cancels Upcoming Las Vegas Residency 2022

Along with the statement, the band has also announced that they will be canceling the first set of their Las Vegas Residency this June and July 2022.

"We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must cancel our first set of Las Vegas Residency dates this June and July while he focuses on his well-being," they announced.

Apologizing for the inconvenience that the band has caused, all ticketholders of the Las Vegas concerts for the month of June and July shall be receiving a refund if they were purchased through Ticketmaster.

However, ticketholders who purchased from a different vendor were advised to contact them to get more refund information.

Despite this, the band has assured fans that they will still continue the 2022 dates starting in September. More information about their return will be posted in the coming weeks.
