Guillaume Bideau, the former frontman of Mnemic, has died. He was 44.
News about Bideau's death emerged after fans posted messages on his personal Facebook profile. The French professional live and studio singer passed away weeks after turning 44.
On Wednesday, former Mnemic guitarist and keyboardist Mircea Gabriel Eftemie divulged the same news.
One-Way Mirror, where he also worked as a vocalist, shared a statement in French after learning about his shocking death.
His family is yet to address the new development in their life. A confirmation on Guillaume Bideau's cause of death also has not been released, and it remains unknown whether it was health-related or not.
But for what it's worth, he never faced any health issues in the past years except the time when Mnemic had to cancel their appearance at the Elsrock Festival due to his throat infection.
"We apologize to anyone who've bought tickets and wanted to see MNEMIC at the fest, but unfortunately health has first priority for us. We will definitely make it up to you!" the band said at that time, per BlabberMouth.
Despite the absence of details about Bideau's death, fans offered outpouring tributes as they remembered his contribution to the music industry.
Guillaume Bideau's Journey, Career
Before joining Mnemic, which debuted in 1998, Bideau first became the frontman of the French metal band SCARVE from 1998 to 2008.
He officially became part of the band in 2006 months after former Transport League and B-Thong vocalist Tony Jelencovich temporarily replaced vocalist Bøgballe.
Before his death, he got featured in three albums of Mnemonic - 2007's "Passenger," 2010's "Sons of the System," and 2012's "Mnemesis."
Aside from being a musician, Bideau also dedicated his life to being an avid photographer. He captured semi-surreal landscapes and nature while also working on promotional photos for other artists.
Bideau shared his talent in music by engineering, mixing, producing, and mastering other musicians' projects.
Although he spent his last years in music with Mnemic, his former bandmates in Scarve did not forget about him.
Dirk Verbeuren released a statement to express his heartbreak, saying: "You didn't care what other people said. You did what you wanted and you lived your own way. I'm gonna miss you terribly, my friend... Rest in peace."
