America knows BTS very well - having them grace the White Palace is enough proof. The boys went there however, not to sing or dance, but give a timely message that America needs to hear at the time moment.

On the group's visit to the White House on Tuesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre remarked that while many of the fans may know BTS as Grammy-nominated international icons, they also serve a crucial role as youth ambassadors spreading a message of "respect and positivity."

The boy group visited as a part of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the band was able to speak out against escalating anti-Asian hate crimes.

Rolling Stone reported Jimin as having said that the BTS is devastated over the recent increase in hate crimes, with Asian Americans as particular targets. Jimin added that In order to put a stop to this and to help the cause, the band wants to utilize the occasion to express what they individually feel and think about these hate crimes. " For their ARMY (the name given to BTS supporters), J-Hope thanked those from "various ethnicities and cultures and languages" for their support. We sincerely and eternally thank you."

We still feel surprised that music created by South Korean artists reaches so many people around the world, transcending languages and cultural barriers," said Jungkook.

"We believe music is always an amazing and wonderful unifier of all things. It's not wrong to be different. Then equality begins when we open up and embrace all of our differences," added Suga.

"Everyone has their own history," V concluded. "We hope today is one step forward to respecting and understanding each and every one as a valuable person."

It was a "essential occasion to speak about critical concerns and recognize the power of musicians and artists in changing things, RM said, thanking President Joe Biden and the White House.

After the speech, the ARMY in the White House press corps was disappointed to learn that the group would not be taking any questions. But then, this is a just an indication that the group works quite well with focus. When they wanted to deliver an important message, they did so without having a press conference to highlight who they are or their albums. A good message can get lost that way.

White House itinerary says the band was supposed to meet with Vice President Biden in the Oval Office "to address anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination," according to USA Today.
