Charlie Puth lived like a rock star for a night and regretted it. That's what he said, anyway.
In a new interview with Bustle, released on Tuesday, May 31, Charlie Puth discussed one of the most intimate moments of his life. When he was 21 years old, the 30-year-old musician described how he lost his virginity. Surprisingly, the "Attention" singer revealed that his first sexual encounter was with a fan with whom he lost contact. The act in itself was NOT even that memorable, which makes him regret it.
Now that sounds sad, even for a star.
Charlie disclosed that a woman approached him for an autograph during a brief performance in Boston.
"This girl came up to me and was like, 'Can you sign my chest?' I was like, 'I feel like a rock star,'" he said.
On the one hand, many would count him lucky because he seemed to have lost his "v-card" on a "right time," because it is deemed a rite-of-passage of some sort in this society.
On the other hand, the "Light Switch" singer did express some regrets because his first time could have been so much better if he did not choose the "rock star" route.
"I never saw her again. She was lovely, but it makes me sad sometimes because I wish the older version of me was like, 'Hey, you might want to just make this like a little more memorable,'" he said.
He said he really wants his first time to be "a little more memorable," but what done is done. Plus, it did not affect his sexual appetite anyway.
He jokingly admitted having quite the appetite, which can be seen in most of his TikTok content.
"I'm really horny. I think to be a creative, you have to be a little bit," he said, even referencing a tweet that pointed out how sexually driven his TikToks seem.
In addition to not being hesitant about his sexual inclinations, Charlie has shared shirtless images of himself sitting in his underpants to his Instagram.
His music also celebrates a variety of sexual emotions.
The single "Light Switch" from his upcoming album Charlie features the words: "You turn me on like a light switch." This says so as much.
Obviously, some of Charlie's songs touch on deeper, more difficult feelings, such as the heartbreaking "That's Hilarious," where he sings, "You took away a year of my f**king life." Even though a line like that might be a little intense, Charlie admitted that he tried to incorporate some humor into the song (given the title "That's Hilarious"), and he said that he worked to a bit of a balance. "It's the sugar in the medicine," he said.
