Eddie Van Halen's son, Wolfgang, is not happy with the release of the documentary about his father's death.
The music industry was left devastated after Eddie died of throat cancer in 2020. He purportedly endured the dreaded disease for decades.
Years after his death, Reelz Channel decided to include him in its documentary, "Autopsy: The Last Hours Of..." According to Blabbermouth, the documentary series explores the deaths of celebrities and people whose deaths gained media attention or scandal.
"Autopsy: The Last Hours Of..." uses medical evidence and official autopsies to explain the deaths.
The late singer's episode has been scheduled to be released on June 5.
With that, Wolfgang showed how infuriated and disgusted he is by the upcoming documentary through a new Twitter post.
"F- @ReelzChannel, f- everyone that works on this show, and f- you if you watch it. F-ing disgusting trying to glamorize someone's death from cancer. Pathetic and heartless," he said.
While some fans agreed with Wolfgang's statement, some clarified that the documentary would, instead, celebrate Eddie's life.
Reelz Channel has not responded to the musician's outburst yet.
What Happened to Eddie Van Halen?
The release of the documentary will come nearly two years since Eddie died.
In October 2020, his son divulged the news about Eddie's death following his decades-old battle against throat cancer.
"He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift," he said in his heartfelt tribute. "My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss."
A news outlet reported that he died at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica in the U.S. The hospital doctors discovered that the throat cancer had spread out to his brain and other organs.
He also faced intestinal issues and chemotherapy sessions in the years leading to his death. But aside from his bowel issues and throat cancer, Eddie also struggled with two other illnesses.
Wolfgang revealed on "The Howard Stern Show" that his father was also diagnosed with lung cancer and brain tumor.
Despite receiving treatments in Germany, Eddie's health continued to deteriorate starting in early 2019 after getting involved in a motorcycle accident. After discovering his brain tumor, he underwent gamma knife radiosurgery to remove or lessen the tumor's mass.
Unfortunately, he lost his battle in 2020 and broke his fans' hearts.
