J Balvin and Christian Nodal are butting heads with each other on Instagram. Their spat is not just some small indifference, as Balvin has hit on Nodal's newly publicized transformation.
The Reggaeton singer is no stranger to controversies like this, as he had been at the center of backlash because of his problematic takes on issues like misogyny, racism, and human rights abuse.
J Balvin vs Christian Nodal Beef: What's Happening?
Mexican singer Christian Nodal has recently undergone a very public transformation.
From wearing mainly dark colors and black-colored hair, the Mexicano is now sporting a blonde buzzcut, colored inks, and green nails - a look that J Balvin seemed to have taken ever since.
The "Mi Gente" did not hold back and posted Nodal's new photo on his Instagram account, along with his photo in which his blonde hair is given focus. "Find the seven differences," Balvin wrote on Instagram along with a laughing emoji and tagging Nodal on the caption.
While the infamous Instagram post now amassed almost a million likes and laughs from Balvin's friends - Nodal hit back and responded.
"That I do have carnal talent and I can proudly sing my compositions wherever, however, whenever with pride. That your photo was chosen by you and mine was uploaded by the press," he quipped.
To add more salt, Nodal even posted a series of Instagram stories with Residente's "Sesión 49," a diss track created for J Balvin. "I do this to have fun. He also woke up a joker," Nodal said.
Getting back at Nodal, Balvin posted a follow-up Instagram video, now with a filter tattoo that says the name "Belinda" - Nodal's ex-girlfriend who Balvin dragged into the online drama.
Per Balvin, the photo he posted of Nodal was "without any bad intention."
The two singers' back and forth drama on Instagram reached Twitter, prompting laughs from netizens who are watching the drama unfold.
J Balvin Past Issues: Reggaeton Singer Accused of THIS?
Last October 2021, the Colombian singer received massive backlash from the African-American community because of his tasteless characterization of Black people in his now-deleted music video, "Perra."
J Balvin's race was also put into question two months after. African Entertainment Awards hailed him as the Best Afro-Latino Artist of the Year. This has drawn harsh criticism towards Balvin and the Awards show, noting that Balvin was not African, to begin with.
Later on, the award was renamed Best Latin Artist of the Year.
