After responding to the sexual assault allegations against Tilian Pearson, post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance has finally addressed the issue and revealed their vocalist's fate amid the scandal.

According to Loudwire, the California-based group issued a statement on social media, saying the recent allegations against their bandmate are something that they take very seriously.

The band has also been discussing what necessary steps they should take.

With that being said, they decided to drop Pearson from the group ultimately.

"Effective immediately, Tilian will be stepping away from the band in order to seek professional health," the statement continues.

The band noted that current members, Will Swan, Matthew Mingus, Jon Mess, and Andrew Wells, will move forward and perform on their scheduled tours. They will also release "Jackpot Juicer" as planned.

Speaking about their upcoming record, the band noted that they worked "incredibly hard" on the album, and it was the last recorded body of Tim Feerick.

"We want to be sure we give it the full release attention that it deserves to honor his legacy."

Feerick, the band's longtime bassist, passed away on April 13. As of this writing, his cause of death remains a mystery.

The band concluded their statement, writing, "We know that this is a very upsetting and trying situation for all those affected, and we ask people to please be as understanding as possible while everyone works through this."

Pearson's recent exit comes a few days after a Reddit user shared a 6,000-word recollection of her experience with the singer when the band played at SwanFest on April 23 in Sacramento, California.

The unknown woman alleged that she and the vocalist were under the influence of alcohol when they headed to Pearson's place.

When they were staying at his residence, the singer slapped him in an attempt to be "sexy," however, the woman was hurt.

She expressed her disappointment, telling him it was "cool" to do it as long as it was consensual and not as hard. However, he did it again for the second time.

They met up for the second time in an Airbnb, where he got into a "weird snuggling position" where she couldn't move. She wanted her to leave, but he insisted on staying.

The full Reddit post is still up on the website.

Following this, Pearson has denied all the allegations but admitted that he was "very vulnerable" at the time and the sexual act was "purely consensual."
