What is happening to Jesy Nelson's new album? Isn't it supposed to be dropped by now?
After the release of her debut solo single, "Boyz," it was anticipated that her debut solo album would follow shortly. However, it has not yet occurred.
According to a fresh report, the executives disliked the other music tracks that followed "Boyz."
Insiders said Jesy Nelson's debut album is problematic because record execs were unsatisfied with early versions of her tracks. However, they did not say it will be cancelled. It will be merely postponed.
The 30-year-old singer left Little Mix in 2020 and released her debut solo track Boyz with Nicki Minaj in October of 2017; however, she has not released any song since then. According to The Sun, record label executives ordered Jesy to "go back to the drawing board" after hearing some of the music she had been composing.
According to a source, Jesy has worked extremely hard on her solo song. After releasing Boyz the previous year, she presented the company with early renditions of the songs she had composed.
The executives believed there was potential, but wanted her to return to the drawing board. They believed the tracks would profit from it, so she implemented the change.
She is determined to only play them the new song when it is flawless, therefore they have not heard any since then.
The source stated that there are "great hopes" for Jesy's completed record.
Nevertheless, a source told MailOnline that Jesy has merely played recordings for her record label and has not yet sent them her complete album.
"Jesy has never sent the label early versions of the album, she had a bunch of demos which she played record labels last year before she signed, and she recently came back from LA with new songs - that the label is yet to hear," they explained
"No one knows which songs will make the final cut, Jesy is still working on the music, so it doesn't make sense for label bosses to pencil a release date until she's finished," they also said.
Meanwhile, after returning to the United Kingdom, Jesy broke down during a late-night recording session.
As she listened back to a song, the singer was struck with emotion, telling her Instagram fans that it "got me in the feels."
Jesy returned to London on the same day that her former band Little Mix completed their final tour.
Jesy's former bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirlwall all shed tears at their farewell show as they reflected on their decade together.
