Eddie Munson, a metalhead, is captured shredding on his guitar in the trailer for "Stranger Things" Volume 2. However, fans of the show and the singer are intrigued - what is he playing?
Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 Mystery Song
Since its official debut on Netflix a month ago, fans of the sci-fi/horror global phenomenon "Stranger Things" have been fast to binge-watch the new series. They are attempting to discern what might be in store for them in the next second volume, which is scheduled to air on July 1.
While fans are interested about the actual storyline that they will be presented with, they are also as intrigued about the song Eddie Munson was shredding on his guitar. Many fans think that the mystery song Eddie Munson is playing on his guitar while standing on a deserted roof or cliff in the trailer can be a crucial ingredient to the plot.
Fans are aware that this moment depicted in the trailer - which contained footage from both volume one and volume two - has not yet appeared in any of the released episodes.
Could It Be Sweet Child of Mine?
Fans cannot wait and requesting guitarists to utilize their knowledge to predict what the tune could be.
They are comparing the song's value to the plot to how Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" became crucial to the first few volume of "Stranger Things" season 4.
In any case, the most popular assumption is Europe's 1986 signature hymn "The Final Countdown", namely the guitar solo, which was actually released the same year this new season was established. However, other fans are skeptical of this theory because it is too glossy and not the type of thing they envision our Dio-patch-wearing OG metalhead Eddie to enjoy.
One TikTok guitarist, @charlie.harris06, has gone one step further, and has analysed Eddie's hand placement on the guitar. "Lots of people guessed it's The Final Countdown from the F# power chord he is playing here" he says. "But the solo doesn't quite match up".
Other possibilities include the beginning riff to Guns 'N Roses' 1987 hit "Sweet Child 'O Mine."
Some believe it could be Metallica's 1986 thrasher Master Of Puppets. Another fan hypothesizes that perhaps Eddie himself composed the tune and this will be a brand new song.
Guitar World's Editor-in-Chief Michael Astley-Brown commented on Eddie's hand placement, stating, "the stuff up the neck is the right position for that solo."
Whatever it is, July cannot come faster.
