Justin Bieber has shocked the world recently as he revealed that the left side of his face was paralyzed because of a viral infection.
Diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, the Canadian singer was prompted to cancel his Toronto and Washington D.C. concerts this week.
In his earlier announcements, he angered concertgoers as he did not specify the full reason why he canceled the shows - only noting that he is suffering from an unnamed illness.

In an Instagram video that he has posted yesterday, Justin Bieber has revealed that he is suffering from Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a virus that attacks the nerve in the ear and facial nervees, causing the face to have paralysis.
Evidently on the video, the right side of Justin Bieber's face has limited movemen, with only the left eye blinking.
Describing the illness as "pretty serious," Bieber asks for fans to understand his current state as he has to "slow down" to rest and relax so that he could get back on tour.
Fans cast worry on the popstar's current health status, curious if the "Stay" hitmaker will ever recover from it.

Speaking to PEOPLE Magazine, Providence Saint John's Health Center Facial Nerve Disorders Program Director Dr. Amit Kochhar broke down everything that fans need to know on Justin Bieber's current illness.
Occuring only in around five in 100,000 people, the "very, very, very rare disease is caused by a shingles virus - which leaves people who had chicken pox of varicella-zostar virus as a child susceptible to the infection.
Per Kocchhar, immunosupression or high stress caused the Ramsay Hunt Syndrome on Justin Bieber. Affected individuals usually experience paralysis on the infected facial nerve and a rash around the ear. (via Rare Diseases)
Side effects of Ramsay Hunt may include, hearing loss, rashes, headache, vomiting to severe vertigo.
Fortunately, Justin Bieber's Ramsay Hunt Syndrome can be treated with high dose steroids and antivirals, which can be taken orally at home and are "the most important thing" for recovery.
Around 75% of those who could recover from the infection may not suffer from long-term damage. However, the 25% may suffer from nerve damage, and in very rare cases may affect the vocal chords at some point.
But considering Bieber's current health state, fans remain hopeful that he would overcome this.
