Music Times

Sad news for Sløtface fans, the renowned Norwegian trio has announced on social media that the band is disbanding, but they also revealed their next career move in the music industry.

Taking to their official Instagram account, the group shared a lengthy statement explaining why they decided to break up.

The band noted that there would be a significant change after ten years of creating music together.

Although Lasse and Tor will be trying "something different with their lives," Sløtface will move forward as a solo act led by Haley.

She will be accompanied by several musicians who will "keep the project going."

Looking back at their experience as a group, the band said Sløtface has been a big part of their lives since they were teenagers because they did a lot of things like traveling around the world, learned many things about themselves, and had the chance to be "a part of something bigger."

"Nietzsche said YOLO. Drake said YOLO. Now it's our turn to say YOLO. Lasse and Tor-Arne will be moving to their respective west coasts - LA and Stavanger. Tor-Arne will be pursuing journalism and Lasse will continue with new musical adventures," the statement continues. (via NME)

They later expressed their gratitude to friends and fans who listened to their music.

Since Haley will be embarking on a new journey as a solo act for Sløtface, fans could expect new material coming soon.

Last year, Lasse started his solo career while still in the band as he released his debut album "Badminton."

The band's last album, "Sorry For The Late Reply," was released in January 2020.

Sløtface wasn't the first group that disbanded and became a solo act as renowned synth-pop trio Years & Years also broke up last year.

In early reports, the band announced that they would be disbanding but would continue being a solo act led by Olly Alexander.

Despite his former bandmates, Emre Türkmen and Mikey Goldsworthy, moving forward with their respective careers, the singer said they would remain close to him.

The reason why they broke up is they've grown apart musically. There was a point when they stopped creating music.

"I feel like we had all this time to really reflect [during the pandemic] on what was going on and it made sense that we kind of went our separate ways," he added.
