Post Malone has been gracing fans with music by releasing songs under the category of pop and hip-hop over the past years, but it appears that the rapper is ready to venture out into a new sound, as teased in a recent interview.
Speaking to SiriusXM's "The Howard Stern Show," the 26-year-old rapper revealed his possible future project, and it's something new that most people haven't heard from him.
"To be honest, there's nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album [to put] on YouTube," he told the host. (via People Magazine)
The singer revealed he's allowed to do it because he's a "human being."
"If I get another year to myself, maybe I'll make a f****** country album," he teased.
Elsewhere in his appearance, the rapper belted out his rendition of Pearl Jam's "Better Man."
Speaking about why he chose to cover the classic song, Malone said his brother introduced him to the band when he was 12 years old.
At the time, his brother Jordan served as a marine based in Hawaii. His family decided to visit him then his sibling played the song to him for the first time.
The rapper also noted that the song makes him "cry" every time he listens to it.
Aside from the Pearl Jam classic, he also performed Sturgill Simpson's "You Can Have the Crown" and Brad Paisley's "I'm Gonna Miss Her."
In the same interview, the rapper opened up about balancing his life as a performer and a father to her newborn daughter.
He clarified that he's happy to go on tour to show his love for fans, create music and make beats by himself, but he's also glad to take care of his family.
Malone gave more information about his longtime girlfriend, who became his fiance recently.
The rapper had struggled with alcohol in the past and mentioned that there was a time when it got so bad to the point that he couldn't get off the floor "for weeks."
Even though he didn't get professional help to treat his addiction, there were people who helped him along the way, especially his fiance.
As of this writing, Malone has not given more information about his future projects.
